Synergy EM38/ Radiometrics Surveying
Why EM38 or radiometric surveying? They provide an accurate map of your soils & soil variability. This then enables us to identify areas with problems we can fix, and areas that can be managed differently for more profit. No other technology allows the rapid, wide-scale mapping that EM38 / radiometrics does at an economically feasible price. Once you locate the soil classes accurately, yield maps and biomass images become much more useful. Think about it – variable rate lime, variable rate P, K, & N, a deep ripping map showing unresponsive or rocky areas – the possibilities are endless.
The process involved is not a simple exercise with components involving;
- In paddock collection of information = surveying using Dual EM38 and radiometric units. EM & radiometrics data relates to soil properties that are agronomically important.
- Processing of data to create soil zones.
- Soil core collection by soil zones (0-10cm, 10-30cm, 30-60cm) & analysis = “ground truthing”.
- Interpretation of the soil test results.
- Comprehensive report documenting Dual EM/ radiometric zones & soil test sites and soil analysis.
- Creation of Management zones.
